Wood Siding, Installed and Repaired With Real Craftsmanship

Homeowners in Winooski, VT choose wood siding for its natural look and warmth, but it's also the exterior material that punishes shortcuts in the install process. Before a single board goes up, our team checks moisture content against local conditions — boards that go on too wet will pull apart as they dry, and boards installed too dry can absorb moisture later and cup or warp. Getting that number right at the start is the difference between siding that lasts and siding that fails early.

We fasten wood siding in a way that lets the material expand and contract naturally, always using stainless steel or hot dipped galvanized fasteners so nothing rusts or bleeds through the finish. Every board is back primed on all sides before it's hung, sealing the parts of the wood you'll never see once installation is done. It's an extra step many crews skip to save time, but it's one of the biggest factors in whether wood siding rots at the edges within a few years or holds up for decades.

Repairs bring their own challenge: matching wood species, grain, and profile closely enough that a new section blends in rather than standing out next to sun-worn boards. Bottom-edge rot is the repair call we see most often, typically tied to splashback or grading issues near the foundation — and a proper fix corrects that moisture problem, not just the rotted board. After #YEARS years focused on wood siding across Winooski, VT, our crew approaches each job with a finish carpenter's eye, because that level of detail is what wood siding actually requires.
